Musician
Growing up, music was at the center of George’s life. His exposure to music spanned from gospel rhythms of the church to classic rock to the world rhythms of his Greek heritage. Though he was the only member of his family to become a musician, besides those that were active in the choir, music was the connection that was always highly cherished. In 2000, at the age of ten years old, George had the opportunity to play a drum set that a neighbor had, a late 70s - early 80s era nine-piece kit with a natural wood finish. Although the drums were in rough condition and had skins made more of duct tape than mylar, the first opportunity to play set George's passion in motion. He went back to his neighbor's house everyday for months to play those drums while trying to convince his parents to allow him to get a set of his own. Finally, his mother and older brother surprised him with a piano-black set for his birthday. One condition set by his parents was that he begin lessons and join the school band. George played the snare drum in the middle school band while taking private lessons at a local music shop.
For years George kept practicing and playing in bands with friends in Tampa Bay, Florida. Once choosing to become a professional musician, George began to expand his playing and dug deeper into the pursuit of mastery--which he continues today. His experiences led to playing in theaters, as well playing live and recording around Tampa Bay. George also continues to study under instructors, which he believes is imperative for any level musician to continue. In 2016 George had the opportunity to share his knowledge with his first student, it was then that he found a new passion of teaching drum set.
Currently, George is a working drummer in Florida. He is available for instruction, recording, and live performance.
